Serre Vineyards

Serre Winery, located in Mt. Airy, offers 180 degree views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. My biggest single piece of advice when planning a winery trip is to first visit their website. It can give you so much information to make your day trip perfect. Serre is one of the best at providing information on their winery and things to do around Mt. Airy. They welcome sommeliers and sipping students alike. I consider myself a sipping student. With ample outside and inside seating there is room for kids and dogs to move around. Live music and Oink and Moo Food truck were available on our visit. You are welcome to bring your own food as well. One nice thing about the music is it wasn’t so loud that you couldn’t have a conversation and we were sitting close to it. They offer tastings, flights, glass and bottle service. I liked the Carolina Wine Mixer, a light white blend. Serre also offers Skull Camp beer with their own Beast Trail Brewing on tap in the near future. They are extremely pet friendly. As I have said before I love hearing the stories of how a winery came to be. This story is truly inspirational. If you want to make a weekend of it and like the idea of camping without actually camping Serre’s Airbnb is for you. Close enough to get groceries, but far enough to “get away”.
