Native Vines Vinery is a hidden treasure in Lexington, North Carolina; home to the Keyauwee Tribe of Indians. It is the first American Indian owned winery in the country. Darlene Gabbard is the owner and operator. I enjoyed the Indian Summer and Charles the 2017 Native Red. They offer $10 tasting of any 6 wines. Seating is limited inside, but ample seating outside. They offer music and food events throughout the summer. The inside tasting room is filled with historical items that you can enjoy as you sip wine. They offer both dry and semi-sweet wines. A unique wine they offer is wine made from organic green tea. The tasting room staff are knowledgeable and walk you through your tasting. This family owned winery packs a big punch with great wines and a rich history.
