Morgan Ridge Vineyards and Brewhouse
We visited Morgan Ridge, located in Gold Hill, to celebrate Father’s Day. We first enjoyed a comprehensive buffet that included both lunch and breakfast foods. Morgan Ridge Winery is open Wednesday-Sunday 11-7. Lunch is available those days 12-3. Friday they offer dinner as well. They also have special dinners throughout the year. The owners, Tommy and Annie Baudoin, have a strong restaurant background and it shows. After over indulging in lunch we moved to the indoor tasting room to enjoy a wine tasting. There is plenty of outside seating, but a thunderstorm came through after lunch. Sitting outside you get the view of the Uwharrie Mountains and the vast property. All of Morgan Ridge wines are estate grown. Not something a lot of vineyards can claim. We each enjoyed a wine flight. Charles enjoyed the 2015 Sangiovese and I liked the 2018 Seyval Blanc, produced in stainless steel. Understanding that not everyone appreciates wine they always offer 6 craft beers on tap. After the rain cleared we walked down to the pond and covered alter to have the customary family picture. The winery would make a beautiful venue for weddings, parties and corporate events. Morgan Ridge is a fantastic winery that has a lot to offer both wine and beer drinkers. Enjoy a flight and lunch. I look forward to getting back and enjoying dinner.
