Located just 10 minutes from Winston-Salem, Medaloni Cellars is the perfect place to stop by and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. They opened in 2012 and not only serve award winning wines, but also have an amazing wedding and event venue. Looking for a romantic getaway? Medaloni Cellars also have cabins on property. We each enjoyed a tasting. I liked the 2020 Gewurztraminer and the 2020 Chardonel. Britny guided us through our tasting and was knowledgeable and friendly. She took the time to give us the history of the winery. There are many spots to enjoy a glass or bottle under a shade tree. On Fridays all glasses of wine are $5. Flights and tastings are both $15. They have a beautiful covered area with overhead fans if the weather is warm. The inside space is casual and charming with garage style doors to open when weather allows. Leashed pets are welcome outside the tasting room. There are several spaces for rent to accommodate your special event. Outside food is permitted, but during most opening hours a food truck is available. They are open Wednesday-Sunday, but check their website for special events. On our visit Vintage Bites was serving great food. We wiped out a spinach dip with vegetables. The dip was more spinach than cheese, more like a spinach dish than an appetizer. We were tempted to lick the plate. This is a definite winery to put on your bucket list. Don’t need to take anything. They have you covered.
