Lookout Point Vineyards
Driving up the drive to Lookout Point Winery and all you can think is “wow”. The physical structure is open and inviting. You can reach Lookout Point either by walking or a golf cart shuttle. Once at the top of the southeast slope the 30 mile view will take your breath away. The immediate view is of the vines who enjoy the mountain breezes to produce some of the most amazing wines. We visited on a Sunday and they had an all you can eat oyster bar, but also another food truck. Music is commonplace at Lookout Point with small local bands playing during any given weekend to bigger bands such as, The Entertainers, that require an advanced ticket. It does get crowded, but they have plenty of room outside. My favorite was the 2015 Dry Riesling. It was dry, crisp and a kick of acidity at the finish. Not only do they offer fantastic wines; they also serve meads. Meads are made with honey instead of grapes. Lookout Point is a perfect spot to bring a picnic lunch or enjoy a food truck. No better way to spend an afternoon than enjoying wine, views and friends.
