Kaya Vineyard and Winery

This past August Charles and I visited the Georgia Wine Highway. It is a month-long wine tasting event sponsored by the Georgia Wine Growers Association. We explored several wineries over the long weekend. One of our favorites is Kaya Vineyard and Winery. After the closing of Blackstock Vineyard in 2012 Kaya Vineyard owners renovated the entire property. Pulling up in the parking lot the first thing I noticed was a Tesla charging station. Charles and I were looking for a mid-afternoon snack and we found the perfect appetizers. No outside food is allowed at Kaya, but have no fear they offer a full menu and picnic baskets. Looking for a few days away they offer luxury cottages. All the wines are estate wines. We enjoyed a tasting and their pimento spread. I liked Grace, a smooth white with a mineral finish. I also liked SS Viognier, a light and crisp white wine. I brought several back with me. Be sure to visit their gift shop loaded with wine accessories and home decor. Their tasting room offers ample sitting to enjoy lunch and a bottle of wine. Outside they offer several places to relax and enjoy the mountain views. Kaya makes a beautiful party/wedding venue.
