Hanover Park Vineyards
Hanover Park Vineyard is located in Yadkinville, the heart of the Yadkin Valley wine growing region. The owners, Michael and Amy Helton, made a trip to the south of France for their honeymoon in 1996. There they fell in love with Old World Wines. They purchased property within 5 months of returning home and began growing their own grapes in the fertile soil. Their wines are made in the Old World style where passion and research are the foundation. These wines are made in small quantities, not mass produced. Hanover combines great Old World style wine with an 1897 farmhouse, centuries old oak trees, and owners who take the time to sit and talk with visitors. They have created a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy conversation and lunch with friends. The tasting room is located in the farmhouse and has ample room to accommodate groups if weather doesn’t cooperate. Both are former art teachers (she is a weaver and he a painter) and their craft is displayed throughout the house. The Studio, a wedding or party venue is located on the property. Charles and I enjoyed an afternoon talking about wine with Amy. They are open Wednesday-Saturday 12-5 and Sunday 1-5. They offer a variety of tastings that will suit everyone in your party. Charles enjoyed Michael’s Blend and I liked the Unoaked Chardonnay. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back.
