Located 17 miles from Asheville in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina Addison Farms Vineyard is a family run winery where good wine meets down home hospitality. After our tasting Charles and I enjoyed our picnic lunch we made our way to the front porch. I enjoyed a bottle of Crown and Plough while Charles enjoyed Preservation. Addison Farms had only a few white wines due to turkeys over the last several years eating the white grapes. I joked that I my convert to the "dark" side if all red wine tasted like Five Twenty-nine. The dessert wine was an amazing blend of mocha and raspberries. Maggie was an incredible host and took the time to tell us the history of the land. I always enjoy listening to how the land because wine growing land. Definitely off the beaten path, but worth the effort
