Fruit Bars



The beauty of this recipe is you can add whatever fruit preserves you like. We also include a short cut.

Fruit Bars


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line a 8*8 pan with foil and leave overhang over the edges.

  • In a bowl combine the first 5 ingredients or use an oatmeal cookie mix.

  • Add butter and mix until moistened.

  • Press 1/2 mixture in prepared pan.

  • Spread fruit preserves in a thin layer.

  • Spread the remaining mixture on top and lightly press.

  • Cook for 30-35 minutes.

  • Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.


  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp. salt

  • 1 cup old fashioned oats

  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

  • or you can use 1 packet of oatmeal cookie mix

  • 1 stick of softened butter

  • 1 cup of fruit preserves ( I used fig)
