The beauty of this recipe is you can add whatever fruit preserves you like. We also include a short cut.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 8*8 pan with foil and leave overhang over the edges.
In a bowl combine the first 5 ingredients or use an oatmeal cookie mix.
Add butter and mix until moistened.
Press 1/2 mixture in prepared pan.
Spread fruit preserves in a thin layer.
Spread the remaining mixture on top and lightly press.
Cook for 30-35 minutes.
Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
1 cup of all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
or you can use 1 packet of oatmeal cookie mix
1 stick of softened butter
1 cup of fruit preserves ( I used fig)
