Chocolate Balsamic and Cherry Sauce

This sauce is from Chef Lara at The Olive of Morganton. Great flavor combinations that pair well with ice cream or pound cake.

Chocolate Balsamic and Cherry Sauce


  • In a large saucepan over medium heat cook cherries, cinnamon stick, sugar and cornstarch until sugar melts about 1 minute

  • Add the wine and Dark Chocolate Balsamic

  • Bring to a boil and cook until wine and balsamic has reduced about 4 minutes

  • Remove from heat and remove the cinnamon stick

  • Enjoy immediately and store in an airtight container 


  • 4 cups fresh or frozen cherries

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 2 Tbs. cornstarch

  • 2 cups dry red wine

  • 4 tsp. of The Olive Dark Chocolate Balsamic
