Caprese Salad

10 minutes


This is perfect for summer when tomatoes are in season. You can play around with types of tomatoes and basil. Can be made as an appetizer or double the recipe and serve as a side.

Caprese Salad


  • Cut tomatoes in half and put in a serving bowl and sprinkle with salt and pepper

  • Cut basil into strips and put with tomatoes

  • Cut the mozzarella balls in half and add to bowl

  • Lightly spray the ingredients with olive oil

  • Allow to sit at room temperature  10 minutes to mingle

  • Right before serving splash with the vinegar


  • 1 pint  mini tomatoes, mixed colors

  • 1/2 cup  basil (I used purple basil)

  • 4 oz. mozzarella cheese balls

  • olive oil (I like in a spray bottle to control amount)

  • salt and pepper

  • balsamic vinegar
