Baked Caramel French Toast

You had me at French Toast! Add in the caramel and this breakfast goody becomes AMAZING.

Baked Caramel French Toast


  • Spray 9*13 baking dish.

  • In medium saucepan combine all topping ingredients, mix well.  Cook on medium heat until smooth.  Stir constantly.  DO NOT BOIL.  Spread topping in sprayed baking dish.

  • Beat eggs in a shallow bowl.  Add milk, vanilla and salt.  Beat well.  Dip each slice of bread in egg mixture, making sure it its thoroughly coated.  Cover and refrigerate overnight or at least 8 hours.

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Uncover and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and toast is golden.  Let stand 3 minutes.  Invert onto a large serving dish.  Scrape any extra caramel topping from dish onto the toast.  

  • Serve immediately


  • Topping

  • 2 cups packed brown sugar

  • 3/4 cup of butter

  • 2/3 cup of whipping cream

  • 2 Tbs. light corn syrup

  • Baked toast

  • 6 eggs

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 2 tsp. vanilla

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 10 thick slices of French bread
