Baked Caramel French Toast
1 hour plus over overnight
You had me at French Toast! Add in the caramel and this breakfast goody becomes AMAZING.
Spray 9*13 baking dish.
In medium saucepan combine all topping ingredients, mix well. Cook on medium heat until smooth. Stir constantly. DO NOT BOIL. Spread topping in sprayed baking dish.
Beat eggs in a shallow bowl. Add milk, vanilla and salt. Beat well. Dip each slice of bread in egg mixture, making sure it its thoroughly coated. Cover and refrigerate overnight or at least 8 hours.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Uncover and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and toast is golden. Let stand 3 minutes. Invert onto a large serving dish. Scrape any extra caramel topping from dish onto the toast.
2 cups packed brown sugar
3/4 cup of butter
2/3 cup of whipping cream
2 Tbs. light corn syrup
1 cup whole milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
10 thick slices of French bread
