We took the classic American apple pie and put our spin on it.
Directions
Allow pie crust to come to room temperature for 20 minutes
Core, peel and cut up apples into slices or cubes.
Mix the butter, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon in a large bowl.
Add apples to mixture and stir until all apples are coated.
Lay out the crust on a baking sheet. Sprinkle a dusting of flour on the crust.
Pour apple mixture on the crust and spread out leaving about 2 inches.
Fold the edges in a free form fashion all the way around. You can't do it wrong.
Brush edges with beaten egg.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place tart in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
Bake for 55-60 minutes.
Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
