Apple Tart

1 hour 30 minutes

We took the classic American apple pie and put our spin on it.

Apple Tart

  • Allow pie crust to come to room temperature for 20 minutes

  • Core, peel and cut up apples into slices or cubes.

  • Mix the butter, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon in a large bowl.

  • Add apples to mixture and stir until all apples are coated.

  • Lay out the crust on a baking sheet.  Sprinkle a dusting of flour on the crust.

  • Pour apple mixture on the crust and spread out leaving about 2 inches.

  • Fold the edges in a free form fashion all the way around.  You can't do it wrong.

  • Brush edges with beaten egg.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Place tart in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

  • Bake for 55-60 minutes.

  • Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

  • 1 packaged pie crust (rolled up not the one in a pie plate)

  • 4 large apples of your choice (I used a mixture)

  • ⅓ cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • all purpose flour

  • 1 egg, beaten
