This recipe is very important to me and I hope when you make it your house is filled with love and kindness. It might be the best chocolate cake you ever eat.

300 Dollar Cake

Directions

  • For the cake

  • Preheat oven 350

  • Sift sugar, baking soda and flour in a large mixing bowl and set aside

  • Put the stick of butter and oil in a 9*13 dish.  Place the dish in oven to melt

  • In a small bowl wisk cocoa and water together

  • Once the butter has melted add cocoa and water mixture

  • Return dish to oven and bring to a boil in the oven and cook for 1 minute

  • Pour liquid mixture over the dry ingredients and mix with a spoon (don't use a mixer)

  • Add buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and mix with a spoon

  • Pour back into 9*13 pan and bake for 45-50 minutes

  • For the icing

  • 5 minutes before cake is done, melt butter in a medium pan over low heat

  • Add canned milk

  • Mix cocoa in 1/3 cup water 

  • Add cocoa mixture and vanilla to pan

  • Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minutes

  • Remove from heat 

  • Sift powdered sugar into cocoa mixture and stir until smooth

  • Pour over cake while hot

  • For the cake

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 2 cups plain flour

  • 1 tsp. soda

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup Wesson oil

  • 1 stick butter

  • 4 Tbs. cocoa

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • For the icing

  • 4 Tbs. cocoa

  • 1 stick butter

  • 4 Tbs. canned milk

  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • 1 box powdered sugar

  • 1/3 water
