Bread can anchor your brunch. Typically, it is better to have at least two options for our guests. A great savory dish pairs best with a simple bread choice like bagels, English muffins, croissants, biscuits, or toast. Sweet foods are usually a type of pastry so we like to keep the bread options non-sweet. You absolutely do not have to make everything yourself. We like to pick up flaky croissants and freshly made bread.
A bagel bar is another popular option for a buffet-style brunch. Simply create a platter of bagels with a variety of cream cheeses, honey, and spreadable toppings. Our favorite is Abby's Better Nut Butter which comes in a variety of flavors ranging from strawberry, cinnamon, French toast, and more. An overlooked option is a toast bar complete with the same toppings.
English muffins and biscuits are simple options as well. We like this easy honey butter recipe.
Often we think of themed brunches to celebrate brides, mothers-to-be, Easter, or even Mother's Day. The possibilities are endless. Sometimes we like to have friends gather just for the sake of catching up. Some of those seemingly forced occasions include Hello Spring, Gardening with the Girls, March Madness, or Wimbledon just to name a few.
A trip to a party or dollar store can give you inspiration. You don't need to break the bank trying to decorate. Take stock in what supplies you already have and go from there. Perhaps you will decide to focus on colors in lieu of a specific theme. Clearance items from holidays that recently passed give us a huge selection of deeply discounted items.
